Not all disabilities are visible.<\/li>\n<li>Ask before assisting someone and wait for their instructions.<\/li>\n<li>When talking to a person with a sign language interpreter or other support provider, address the person directly.<\/li>\n<li>Be patient with those who take extra time to communicate. Do not speak for them or assume they have an intellectual disability.<\/li>\n<li>The person themselves is the best judge of what they can and cannot do. Involve people with disabilities in their academic\/life decisions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Disability Microaggressions<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>You are so inspiring.<\/li>\n<li><strong>You<\/strong>, have a disability?<\/li>\n<li>You look so normal.<\/li>\n<li>You&#8217;re young, you&#8217;ll heal.<\/li>\n<li>ADHD isn&#8217;t real. You just need to work harder.<\/li>\n<li>You don&#8217;t need Proctoring, take your test in class.<\/li>\n<li>We all have some kind of disability.<\/li>\n<li>Extended time isn&#8217;t fair to the other students.<\/li>\n<li>If you try harder you will overcome your problems.<\/li>\n<li>He has a mental illness?
