Welcome to Machining Technology<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Machining Technology Program will provide a foundation of design and manufacturing skills using Computer Aided Manufacturing software, programming CNC machinery using MasterCAM, and the set up and operations of CNC Lathes, CNC Mills, and 5-Axis CNC Mills. Quality control is also incorporated using advanced precision measuring techniques to insure product precision and accuracy. Upon completion of this program, students will be qualified for an entry level position in Machining and Manufacturing.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students will be trained in the use of hand measuring tools such as calipers, height gauges, micrometers, etc. Students will also learn how to use CMM’s, Faro Arm, and laser scanner. In addition, students will take a Technical Math course to achieve the necessary problem solving skills, and how to read and internet blueprints and the GD&T Matrix.<\/span>\n\n\n

\nAll shop theory subjects have a direct bearing on the student’s skill, safety, and attitude. In addition to shop theory and practice, the students study math, blueprint reading, metallurgy, safety, and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) programming.

\nMasterCAM programming classes teach basic CAM programming for CNC lathe, CNC mills. The basic CNC class involves writing programs and learning to safely operate the HAAS CNC mills and lathes.<\/span>\n\n\n
