Graduates of the program meet the requirements of a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) and Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) and are eligible to take both the state board examination and the national board examination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The RDA Program begins in the fall semester of each year. Students will be prepared to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Assist dentists at chair-side and in laboratory<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist in practice management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform radiographic procedures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place pit and fissure sealants<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform coronal polishing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform infection control<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meet state requirements for knowledge of the California Dental Practice Act<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Registered Dental Assistants are in high demand and salaries are at a competitive rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students will have externship opportunities during the Spring semester each year.
