{"id":214,"date":"2012-09-17T08:39:03","date_gmt":"2012-09-17T15:39:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/dental\/?page_id=214"},"modified":"2026-01-07T10:13:21","modified_gmt":"2026-01-07T18:13:21","slug":"application-deadlines","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/dental\/application-deadlines\/","title":{"rendered":"Application &amp; Deadlines"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Application<\/strong> <strong>Period<\/strong>*<\/td><td><strong>Semester    <\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Admission Decisions<\/strong>**<\/td><td><strong>Current Status<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>June 2025<\/td><td>Fall 2025<\/td><td>July 2025<\/td><td><strong>APPLICATION IS NOW CLOSED!<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>June 1-15, 2026<\/td><td>Fall 2026<\/td><td>July 2026<\/td><td>Applications will open on June 1, 2026.<br>An application link will be posted here before June 1.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em><br>*Application period starting Fall 2026 semester is from June 1-15. <br>** All students will receive a notification via email, regardless of the admission decision.<br><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>RDA Program Application Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible for admission, applicants must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Complete the prerequisite courses <strong>DA 50<\/strong> and <strong>DA 57<\/strong> as well (or equivalent) with a grade of &#8220;C&#8221; or higher. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete the corequisite course <strong>ENG 100<\/strong> \/ <strong>ENGL C1000<\/strong> (or equivalent) with a grade of &#8220;C&#8221; or higher.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Show proof of high school graduation or equivalent by submitting a copy of diploma, final transcripts, or proof of a passing score on the General Education Development test (GED).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meet academic requirements as specified in the Palomar College Catalog.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 (Cumulative GPA from all college coursework)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be a minimum age of 18 years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete and submit the Palomar College RDA Application for Admission.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete the Application Checklist.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contact the Dental Assisting program if contact information changes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check College student email regularly and respond to messages in a timely manner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Admitted students will be required to submit medical, immunization, vision, and dental clearances and proof of current CPR certification by established deadlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Completion of or Eligibility for ENG 100 \/ ENGL C1000 with a \u2018C\u2019 or better is required to graduate from the RDA Program and to be eligible for RDA License.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RDA Program information including costs, contact information, pass rates, and the Program Policy Manual can be found at <span style=\"color: #000000\">www.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/dental\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">palomar.edu\/dental.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">RDA PROGRAM APPLICATION CHECK LIST &amp; INSTRUCTIONS<\/span><br><\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Submit your application packet <strong>online <\/strong>during the posted application period. All documents uploaded need to be in PDF format. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>RDA Program Application packet must include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dental Assisting Program Application<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dental Assisting Program Application Checklist<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of High School Graduation or GED or College Degree<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unofficial transcripts\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If admitted, students will submit official transcripts directly to the Palomar Records Office<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important Notes:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you have not already passed DA 50 and DA 57, you are <strong>not eligible<\/strong> to apply for the program at this time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Acceptance is offered on a first come first serve basis for complete and eligible application packets.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completion of ENG100 \/ ENGL C1000 or ESL 106 course with a \u2018C\u2019 or better is required to graduate from the RDA Program and to be eligible for the licensing exams.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If admitted, students will attend a mandatory on-boarding meeting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participating students will be required to meet medical, dental, vision, immunization, and CPR requirements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students cannot enroll into program courses until all on-boarding requirements are met.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For internship and licensing requirements, students will need to provide a Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Academic Standards<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To remain enrolled in the program, students must earn a minimum grade of \u201cC\u201d (2.0) in each of the required courses. Students must pass all laboratory and clinical evaluations at 75% competency or a substandard grade will be assigned for the course. A student may fail a dental assisting course on the basis of clinical practice even though grade in the lecture portion of a class may be a \u201cC\u201d or higher.
