{"id":314,"date":"2020-09-14T09:23:14","date_gmt":"2020-09-14T16:23:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/pages\/edi\/?p=314"},"modified":"2020-09-14T09:23:14","modified_gmt":"2020-09-14T16:23:14","slug":"english-department-statement-on-equity-diversity-and-inclusion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/deiaa\/english-department-statement-on-equity-diversity-and-inclusion\/","title":{"rendered":"English Department Statement on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thew English department has provided this powerful narrative in support of our Antiracist efforts. \u00a0Thank you so much for these words!<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n<p>English Department Statement on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion<\/p>\n<p>In response to ongoing societal inequities based on race and the deaths of individuals like George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and Daniel Prude (to name just a few) at the hands of State Power, the English Department of Palomar College stands in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and affirms its support for our BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) students, faculty, and staff. Further, we support the current movements to dismantle widespread systemic racism and discrimination.
