{"id":168,"date":"2020-08-20T10:56:44","date_gmt":"2020-08-20T17:56:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/pages\/edi\/?p=168"},"modified":"2020-08-20T19:11:05","modified_gmt":"2020-08-21T02:11:05","slug":"palomar-college-joins-usc-equity-alliance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/deiaa\/palomar-college-joins-usc-equity-alliance\/","title":{"rendered":"Palomar College Joins USC Equity Alliance"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div lang=\"EN-US\">\n<div class=\"x_x_x_x_WordSection1\">\n<p>\u00a0Palomar College is very excited about \u00a0this opportunity. \u00a0Being a part of this alliance will mean a sustained year-long professional development program. \u00a0Each month we will get to send 5 people to the monthly e-convening where they will spend 3 hours in a deep dive of the content and the final hour will be spent learning how to teach the content to our campus. \u00a0Each group will create an action plan for the campus based on their work.\u00a0\u00a0This means each month for the next year, 5 of our colleagues will be teaching us. \u00a0At the kick-off call we learned we can either send the same 5 people to each e-convening, however we are encouraged to send 5 different people each time. \u00a0Looking forward to the \u00a0next meeting in September. \u00a0 Dr. Harper who organized the alliance \u00a0has also been nominated as a member of\u00a0Governor <span class=\"xn-person\">Gavin Newsom&#8217;s<\/span>\u00a0 new <b>California Higher Education Recovery with Equity Taskforce<\/b>.
