Professor Scott Richison<\/strong> has produced hundreds of hours of television and several documentaries – winning five Emmys in five different categories and two Golden Mics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He’s taught at the collegiate level since 2006. Scott earned a Bachelors of Communications from the University of California, San Diego and a Masters in Educational Technology from San Diego State University. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his spare time, he enjoys working as a chauffeur for his children, smoking meats and crafting pretentious bios for your enjoyment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jerry Mccormick<\/strong> is an Emmy winning producer and communications professional with 30 years of combined experience in broadcast, print journalism, and public relations. Today, I work as a Senior Public Information Officer for the City of San Diego. My job is to manage the media coverage for the City\u2019s economic development department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to my role with the City, I\u2019m educating the next generation of journalists. Between 2015 and 2017, I worked as an Associate Producer for the 4, 5, 6, and 10 p.m. broadcasts at Fox 5 San Diego<\/strong>. In 2014, I served as an Executive producer at KOIN 6 News in Portland, Ore. At KOIN, I oversaw the station\u2019s morning broadcast and lifted it from fourth place to third place. I also managed a staff of 12,<\/strong> including young producers. Prior to KOIN, I produced and wrote for NBC San Diego<\/strong>. There I covered everything, from major political scandals to some of the nation\u2019s biggest stories. I\u2019m the founding president of the San Diego Association of Black Journalists<\/a><\/strong>,<\/strong> which has sent over 60+ students to colleges and universities across the country in its 18 years of existence. This chapter celebrated its 20th year in 2020.
I\u2019m proficient in all forms of social media, including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter, and an expert in Microsoft Office, INews, and ENPS. I\u2019m an amateur photographer and video editor with a working knowledge of Final Cut Pro and other editing software. I can also do basic web and page design and Adobe Creative Suite.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Larry Braun<\/strong> is a highly experienced multimedia designer with over 20 years of expertise in motion graphics, editing, and video production. He first discovered his passion for broadcast design while interning in the design department of a local FOX station during his graphic design degree at SDSU. Since then, Larry has expanded his skills to include motion design, editing, and video production, working on freelance opportunities for advertising agencies and large brands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Larry’s professional portfolio showcases his expertise in editing, motion, digital, and graphic design, including 2D, 3D, and digital content experiences. He has a proven track record of producing high-quality video solutions in fast-paced, deadline-sensitive team environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a recognized expert in his field, Larry possesses core competencies in editing, multimedia, campaign management, and marketing communications. He excels in team collaboration, product & brand strategy, and interactive digital production. He is proficient in design, editing, and animation programs such as Final Cut, Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and Cinema 4D. In addition, he supports the Marine Corps training as a video specialist and drone pilot to capture field training and create after-action briefs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Larry’s notable highlights and accomplishments include winning Telly and Emmy Awards for his animation and graphic design work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, Larry works at General Atomics in San Diego as an Animator\/Editor\/Photographer, where he supports marketing initiatives by creating multimedia designs, editing videos, and photography. He also runs his own business where he creates design, animation, and video solutions for clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his previous roles, he served as an Animator\/Editor\/Photographer at ABC 10News San Diego and Senior Designer and Digital Media Manager at Channel 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Larry is enthusiastic about bringing his expertise to the classroom as an Advanced Video Editing instructor and continuing to inspire and innovate in the field of motion graphics, editing, and video production.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\"Dave<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
\n

A trusted broadcast professional for over four decades, Dave Drexler<\/strong> is one of San Diego\u2019s best-known voice-over artists, on-camera presenters and media writer\/producers. As principal voice and on-camera host for PBS affiliate KPBS- TV for 25 years, Dave received three Emmy awards for performance and writing plus an Emmy nomination as producer. A NATAS Silver Circle inductee for his career achievements, Dave currently hosts and produces \u201cInside Art\u201d for KSDS-FM, Jazz 88.3, a weekly radio program featuring a variety of prominent personalities throughout the arts. \u201cInside Art\u201d has received multiple honors from the San Diego Press Club, including a \u201cBest of Show\u201d award in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Director of Drexler Media since 1986, Dave provides voice-over, full-service audio production and creative services to a wide variety of corporate, retail, non-profit and broadcast clients. Dave\u2019s versatile voice and performing style ranges from the authoritative to the whimsical, adding distinction to any project \u2013 all produced in his broadcast-quality studio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Adjunct Professor at Palomar College, MiraCosta College and San Diego City College since 1997, Dave delights in teaching and mentoring the next generation of media performers and producers. His broad knowledge of jazz and audio led to his position as Producer\/Director of KSDS-FM\u2019s \u201cJazz Live,\u201d a monthly live radio broadcast featuring national jazz artists, which also provided hands-on concert and audio production experience to SDCC students. Dave joined the faculty of Palomar College in 2009 as an instructor of Avid Pro Tools Digital Audio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dave enjoys world travel at every opportunity and has been fortunate during his career to work on-air in Sydney, Australia and in-studio in Tokyo, Japan. His familiarity with numerous languages and accents adds to his variety of performance skills, while his experience in the world ensures a sensitive and respectful approach to every project.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Kigh Sturdevan<\/strong> is an ACI (Avid Certified Instructor) and has worked as a Senior Studio Producer at Capital Group since September 2018. Kigh’s experience, both as a filmmaker, workflow specialist, and post-production editor, has been of great benefit to Capital Group. He spent four years at King Schools as a Video Production Specialist and Video Department Manager and another five years with Scratch Media as a Post Production Manager, System Administrator, and Lead Editor before his time at Capital. His exceptional organizational skills and structured thinking process have earned a key position in media, asset management, and process management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interesting factoid:<\/strong> An Eagle Scout, in addition to his technological prowess, Kigh can speak conversational German and Japanese and is also a self-described “Comic Con geek”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LaMonica Peters<\/strong> is a News Reporter for KTVU Fox 2, covering the South Bay. Before moving to the Bay Area in May 2022, she worked at CBS 8 in San Diego. Her work has been seen on CNN, ABC News Live, CBS News, and Spectrum News Network.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was selected as a Knight Digital Media Center Fellow by the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism in 2011 and then began her Journalism career shortly after at WXVT in Greenville, MS. In 2013, she was given the Mississippi Associated Press Award of Excellence for a 3-part series on breast cancer that described how the disease had affected her own family.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

LaMonica was also chosen to be an inaugural class member for Ida B. Wells Society\u2019s Investigative Reporter training. The organization was co-founded by Nicole Hannah-Jones, Investigative Reporter and author of the 1619 Project. In 2017, she was nominated by the New York State Associated Press for Public Service Reporting while working at Spectrum News in Buffalo, NY.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

LaMonica is an Asst. Journalism Professor, most recently at Palomar College in San Diego County. Previously she taught at Mississippi State University and Mississippi Valley State University.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She\u2019s a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and the Ida B. Wells Society. LaMonica also served as President of the UCLA Black Alumni Association from 2010 to 2012.\u202f \u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

LaMonica earned a B.A. in Communication Studies from UCLA and a M.A. from California State University, Los Angeles.

Professor Ben Wehlage<\/strong>, a first-generation college graduate with a passion for teaching and producing compelling content. I’ve spent over a decade as an adjunct professor, sharing my knowledge of film, television, music, and journalism with students at various colleges across the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My professional journey has encompassed diverse roles, from working in the dynamic worlds of NBC, FOX, and CW in promotion, marketing, sales, and production, to contributing to the mission of PBS through fundraising efforts. I hold a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts from New York Institute of Technology, having also attended Palomar College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a combat veteran who served with the 10th Mountain Division, I bring unique perspectives and resilience to my endeavors. I’ve had the privilege of living in vibrant cities like New York City, Miami, and London, and have explored numerous countries across Europe, Africa, Central America, and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond my professional and academic pursuits, I find joy in long-distance running, creating music, and painting, and I’m an avid art enthusiast with a particular fondness for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, MoMA, the Tate in England, and the Louvre in Paris. My current passion lies in producing captivating 30-second commercials and nurturing the next generation of media professionals through my teaching.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Peter Stoll<\/strong> is a videographer and editor with over 20 years experience, as well as a photographer with 10 years experience. He has worked with a wide range of clients, from local commercial TV spots to small business productions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peter also manages live streams with multi-camera productions for sports and events. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
