{"id":51,"date":"2014-07-26T17:20:04","date_gmt":"2014-07-26T17:20:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/dashboard\/?page_id=51"},"modified":"2023-09-28T17:29:37","modified_gmt":"2023-09-28T17:29:37","slug":"about-dashboard","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/dashboard\/about-dashboard\/","title":{"rendered":"About the Information Literacy Dashboard"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>What is the Information Literacy Dashboard?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Information Literacy (IL) Dashboard is a set of self-paced, online learning modules designed to help students use information ethically and accurately within a paper or project. \u00a0 The IL Dashboard is reviewed and updated each year.\u00a0 Students access the IL Dashboard by self-enrolling in a free course through Palomar&#8217;s Canvas site.<\/p>\n<p>NOTE: The new quiz in the Plagiarism module is graded by librarians on a weekly basis. Once the semester is over the grades will be cleared for all students in anticipation for the next semester.<\/p>\n<p>Palomar students and faculty may use the self-enroll link to do the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/dashboard\/information-literacy-dashboard-login\/\">IL Dashboard course<\/a> for FREE. \u00a0Please contact Alexandra Doyle Bauer at <a href=\"mailto:adoylebauer@palomar.edu\">adoylebauer@palomar.edu<\/a>\u00a0if you have any questions or concerns about this Information Literacy tutorial!<\/p>\n<p>Each module takes approximately 20 to 60 minutes to complete, depending on a student&#8217;s experience incorporating outside sources into a paper or project. \u00a0The modules include videos, interactive lessons, and a final module quiz. \u00a0Students receive immediate feedback on both the interactive lessons and quizzes.\u00a0 On the assessment for the Avoiding Plagiarism module, students also get personalized feedback from Palomar librarians.\u00a0 If a student is not satisfied with the results, they may complete the modules again.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Who Created Dashboard?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Palomar faculty requested a tool for helping students to improve their information literacy skills.
