Please see <a href=\"https:\/\/stg-wwwnetwork-wwwtest.kinsta.cloud\/cooped\/how-do-cooperative-education-classes-work\/\">How do Cooperative Education Classes Work<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Offering internship opportunities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Your department can also work with the Cooperative Education Department to offer internships to students. Internships can increase your department\u2019s capacity while offering meaningful learning opportunities for students under real working conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To host an intern, your department must have a supervisor who is willing to:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Work with the student to set 3 learning objectives<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide training, guidance, mentorship, and constructive feedback to the student<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in a brief site visit (10 minutes) with an instructor from Palomar College during the semester<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sign off on brief monthly reports prepared by the student<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Student interns are covered by Palomar College\u2019s volunteer policy. You\u2019ll need to complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/157\/2018\/02\/VolunteerRequest-Form-02212018.pdf\">Request\/Recommendation for Volunteer Service<\/a>, have the student sign, and route for proper signatures. Human Resources will then contact the student to complete a LiveScan background check and a TB test checklist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your department will be charged $50 to cover the cost of the LiveScan.
