Students in this program develop practical life, communication, and workplace skills in a supportive and structured learning environment. Pre-Vocational Certificate of Completion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Palomar’s Adult Education Workforce Preparation – Pre-Vocational Certificate of Completion is a six course, noncredit program designed to help students develop foundational skills that can increase independence at home, in the community, and in the workplace. Courses for this program include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

N AEWP 901<\/td>Understand your strengths and areas to grow, learn how to handle stress safely and build habits that support long-term wellness.<\/td><\/tr>
N AEWP 902<\/td>Learn time management and organization skills, respond more safely to common home situations and practice personal hygiene and home care skills.<\/td><\/tr>
N AEWP 903<\/td>Build confidence in social situations, improve communication skills and develop healthy and respectful relationships.<\/td><\/tr>
N AEWP 904<\/td>Learn to speak up and advocate for yourself, learn basic first aid for small injuries, and practice using clear and respectful communication.<\/td><\/tr>
N AEWP 905<\/td>Learn strategies for handling everyday challenges, improve decision-making skills and practice creative thinking.<\/td><\/tr>
N AEWP 906<\/td>Build technology skills for school and work, understand basic computer programs and tools and practice using accessibility and adaptive technology tools.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Disability Resource Center (DRC)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Palomar’s DRC supports qualified students with disabilities in accessing the full college experience. The DRC works with students, faculty and staff to provide reasonable academic accommodations, specialized instruction, adaptive technology, advocacy and other support services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students who are new to Palomar and would like to receive disability related services should: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Apply to Palomar College and obtain a Palomar student ID number.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Complete the DRC application.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Provide verification of disability as requested by the DRC. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Meet with DRC counselor to discuss accommodations and educational goals.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
