The following discussion took place at the April 28, 2016 meeting of the Learning Outcomes Council:
- Strategic Plan Goal 1
Michelle Barton asked for feedback from the Council on the proposed Goal 1 (Teaching and Learning) of the Strategic Plan. LOC discussed possible objectives related to teaching and learning that would be assigned to LOC. The suggestions will be incorporated into the plan and taken to SPC.
- Create SLOAC model for interdisciplinary programs and certificates, e.g. Women’s Studies
Marty Furch shared some examples of programs that have courses from various disciplines and provided a proposal for how the faculty who “own” a particular program can collaborate with faculty from other disciplines to inform them of SLO assessment for their Program Review.
- Discuss SLO assessment data in program review and planning and actions
Marty Furch presented strategies on how faculty can use assessment information and data in the program review process.
