Our primary goal is preparing our diverse student population for the pursuit of Bachelor degrees in Chemistry, as well as other Natural Science degrees with which they may enter the workplace. We provide students with the fundamental concepts, knowledge, and laboratory techniques in a healthy and safe environment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style6\">To learn about Chemistry courses offered at Palomar College, including certificate and degree program requirements, consult the <a href=\"https:\/\/palomar.curriqunet.com\/catalog\/iq\/8979\/9014\">College Catalog<\/a>\u00a0or view the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/chemistry\/courses\/\">Courses<\/a> in the menu to the left.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style6\"><span class=\"style7\">To see a list of courses offered in current or upcoming semesters, consult the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/schedule\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Class Schedule<\/a>. When using the &#8220;Online Schedule-Any Term&#8221; search tool, UNCHECK the &#8220;Show Open Classes Only&#8221; box to see a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">complete<\/span> list of Chemistry offerings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff\">SPACE<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Requisite Exception Petition Form:<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a class=\"button\" href=\"https:\/\/my.palomar.edu\/psc\/palc9prd\/EMPLOYEE\/SA\/c\/G3FRAME.G3SEARCH_FL.GBL?G3FORM_FAMILY=STUDENT_REQUISITES&amp;G3FORM_TYPE=SR_REQCH&amp;G3FORM_CONDITION=Default&amp;G3FORM_TASK=ADD\">Requisite Exception Petition Form<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose<\/strong>: Students wanting to enroll in a class who have not met the prerequisite but have a valid reason to bypass the prerequisite can submit the Requisite Exception Petition. This form is routed to the academic department for review by the Department Chair and Dean. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Students will need to be logged in to MyPalomar to access the link<\/strong><\/span> and will receive a response via email.\u00a0 Students will need when submitting the petition form:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>A copy of your transcript (unofficial is fine) showing completion of the prerequisite.<\/li>\n<li>Any other supporting documentation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>For students who have completed CHEM 100 and want to enroll in CHEM 110\/110L:\u00a0 If you are currently completing or you have completed the required math level, you will need to submit the <a href=\"https:\/\/my.palomar.edu\/psc\/palc9prd\/EMPLOYEE\/SA\/c\/G3FRAME.G3SEARCH_FL.GBL?G3FORM_FAMILY=STUDENT_REQUISITES&amp;G3FORM_TYPE=SR_REQCH&amp;G3FORM_CONDITION=Default&amp;G3FORM_TASK=ADD\">Requisite Exception Petition<\/a> form <span style=\"font-size: inherit\">with a copy of your unofficial college\/high school transcript or other supporting documentation showing completion of the math class.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff\">SPACE<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0COURSE OUTLINE OF RECORDS (in lieu of Syllabi)<\/h4>\n<p>Need course outlines (or syllabi) for current or transferring university???:<\/p>\n<p>Our public search of all Palomar College detailed Course Outlines (CORs) is located at <a href=\"http:\/\/palomar.curriqunet.com\/PublicSearch\">http:\/\/palomar.curriqunet.com\/PublicSearch<\/a>.\u00a0 The CORs detail curriculum for any Palomar College course and the COR is what your university will need to determine transferability.\u00a0 Search and access either the \u201cActive\u201d or \u201cHistorical\u201d version depending on the semester(s) you attend(ed) Palomar College.\u00a0 If they insist on reviewing past syllabi, please contact <a href=\"mailto:eschoneman@palomar.edu\">Ellie Schoneman<\/a> for assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The mission of the Palomar College Chemistry Department is to support student learning for success.
