The course includes an overview of coordination chemistry and organic chemistry.<\/p>\n<p><em>SLOs:\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Acid &amp; Base Theory &#8212; Successful students will be able to explain the general differences that exist between weak acids and<br \/>\nbases versus strong acids and bases.<\/li>\n<li>Application of the Scientific Method &#8212; Successful students will be able to apply the scientific method by stating a question, performing<br \/>\nexperiments and\/or analyzing a data presentation.<\/li>\n<li>Chemical Equilibrium &#8212; Successful students will be able to set up an equilibrium problem and solve for equilibrium concentrations.<\/li>\n<li>Electrochemistry &#8212; Successful students will be able to calculate the potential of a voltaic cell using the Nernst equation.<\/li>\n<li>Kinetics &#8212; Successful students will use experimental data to determine the rate law for a chemical reaction.<\/li>\n<li>Weak Acid Equilibrium &#8212; Successful students will be able to calculate the pH of a weak acid solution using the appropriate Ka value.<\/li>\n<li>CHEM 115L: Application of the Scientific Method &#8212; Successful students will be able to apply the scientific method by stating a question, performing<br \/>\nexperiments and\/or analyzing a data presentation.<\/li>\n<li>CHEM 115L: Chemical Lab Technique &#8212; Successful students will be able to set up and execute general and intermediate chemical reactions in the<br \/>\nlab using a chemical technique.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Prerequisites:\u00a0<\/em>A minimum grade of \u201cC\u201d in CHEM 110 and 110L;
