Make an appointment with a Career Counselor to assist you with this process.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>I don\u2019t have a resume; how can I start creating one?<\/summary>\n<p style=\"margin-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40)\">The Career Center offers Resume Samples for our visitors to review.&nbsp; We have Resume Templates on our computer desktops. For job seekers in \u201cresume creation stage\u201d these are valuable and user-friendly tools to begin the process. A RESUME TUTORIAL is also available and accessible on our web site. This is a step by step video demonstration on how to create a Chronological Resume. Remember, in writing a resume, you want to paint a picture of yourself and list all your skills, knowledge, and experience as they pertain to you. Creating a resume is a process and it takes time to get it polished.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Does the Career Center provide interview preparation assistance?<\/summary>\n<p style=\"margin-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40)\">Yes, you can schedule an appointment with a career counselor for a Mock Interview. You can also access our online resource&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/palomar.biginterview.com\/\">Big Interview<\/a>&nbsp;(you will need your Palomar College email to create your account). Please call or stop in the Career Center for more information.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Do you provide assessments on a walk-in-basis?<\/summary>\n<p>You don\u2019t need an appointment or a walk\u2011in to take the TypeFocus assessment. TypeFocus is an online career assessment tool that helps you understand your personality, interests, and values so you can explore majors and careers that fit you. Students can access the assessment anytime through Palomar College\u2019s Single Sign-On (SSO). After you complete the assessment, we highly recommend that you schedule an appointment with a Career Counselor to review and discuss your results to get the most out of your assessment.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Do you offer career exploration classes?<\/summary>\n<p>The Career Center hosts Counseling 165 &#8211; Career Search, a one unit class (unit can apply to an A.A. Degree and is CSU transferable). This class consists of 4 sessions (A, B, C, D). Each session meets for 4 hours. Career Search is held in the Career Center Lab in SU-17. Session A: MBTI and STRONG INVENTORY and additional in-class activities. Session B: Interpretation of these assessments and additional in class assignments. Session C: Complete Career Services Activity &amp; Career Research Assignment and Written Report. Session D: Informational Interviews, the San Diego Labor Market, and complete a \u201cmock\u201d job search class exercise and other tasks. To see dates and times that COUN 165 classes are offered, please visit&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/schedule\/\">Palomar College Class Schedule<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>How do I enroll in COUN 165 (Career Search) class?<\/summary>\n<p>Log on to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/my.palomar.edu\/psp\/palc9prd\/?cmd=login\">MyPalomar<\/a>&nbsp;and add the class number you want to enroll in. Please pay close attention to all the dates, times, and locations where Counseling 165 is offered. **<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Once enrolled in Counseling 165, you will need to pay a $37 (lecture)\/$32 (online) Material Fee at the Cashier&#8217;s Office. This fee covers the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and Strong Inventory Assessments that are taken in class. **<\/em><\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Are workshops facilitated in the Career Center?<\/summary>\n<p>The Career Center hosts a variety of career workshops in the Fall and Spring semesters. Please visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/careercenter\/events\/\">Events<\/a> section of our home page for up-to-date workshop offerings. All of our workshops are FREE!
