{"id":1004,"date":"2017-05-02T00:49:59","date_gmt":"2017-05-02T00:49:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/camppendleton\/?page_id=1004"},"modified":"2024-01-02T14:38:24","modified_gmt":"2024-01-02T22:38:24","slug":"eme-106","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/camppendleton\/eme-106\/","title":{"rendered":"EME 106"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Emergency Medical Technician (EME 106\/106L)<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>EME 106\/106L is the study of EMT theory and knowledge required for identification, treatment, and application\u00a0of pre-hospital emergencies.\u00a0This course prepares the student for National Registry, California and San Diego County EMT certification.\u00a0 Students are required to complete 24 hours supervised ambulance and emergency department observations.<\/p>\n<p>Upon completion of the EME 106 course, you will be eligible to take the National Registry Exam to receive your EMT certification.<\/p>\n<p>This is a 7.5 unit course that is transferable.<\/p>\n<p>Prerequisites for EME 106:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must meet one of the following:\n<ul>\n<li>EME 100<\/li>\n<li>Combat Life Saver (CLS) Certification<\/li>\n<li>TCCC<\/li>\n<li>Corpsman Ranking<\/li>\n<li>Prior EMT experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>AND posses a current CPR\/BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers\n<ul>\n<li>You can obtain a CPR\/BLS cert through the Naval Hospital on base or through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association out in town (please visit their website for information).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #0000ff;text-decoration: underline\">Camp Pendleton Course Information and Schedule:<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Our EME 106 courses on base are in an 16-week format, running Tuesday, Thursday nights from 5:45 pm to 8:50 pm AND every Saturday from 8:30 am to 5:05 pm.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Next available EME 106 courses on Camp Pendleton:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>**Spring <\/strong><strong>2024:<\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n<p>January 28, 2024 through May 22, 2024<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;text-decoration: underline\">EME 106 Tuition and Additional Fees:<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Tuition and fees for this course are listed below.\u00a0 Please note that this is an <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">estimated<\/span><\/em> amount.\u00a0 We highly recommend applying for Financial Aid through FAFSA to help pay for this course.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tuition: $345.00\n<ul>\n<li>Could be covered by the\u00a0<em>California Promise Grant<\/em> (formally\u00a0known as the BOGW)\u00a0by applying for FAFSA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Student Fees (paid to Palomar): $196.00**\n<ul>\n<li>Includes $100.00 testing fee at the end of class.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Additional Course Fees (paid during the course):\n<ul>\n<li>Fisdap Study Tool: $31.25**<\/li>\n<li>Fisdap Skills Tracker: $15.75**<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Uniform: $225.00**<\/li>\n<li>TOTAL: $813.00\n<ul>\n<li>TOTAL with <em>California Promise Grant<\/em>: $468.00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After the course is completed, you will be eligible to take the National Registry Exam.\u00a0 There will be an $80.00 fee for the Cognitive Exam.<\/p>\n<p>* * Items above\u00a0could be covered my Financial Aid if qualified.\u00a0 These items are also highly priced.\u00a0 You can purchase\u00a0your uniforms at a cheaper price- you do not have to purchase the most &#8220;expensive&#8221;
