Multigenerational love triangles and artistic differences explode with comic and tragic consequences in this provocative riff on Chekhov’s classic. Conrad, an aspiring avant-garde artist, longs for two things: the approval of his movie-star mother, Emma; and the love of his leading lady, Nina. Unfortunately, Nina falls for Emma’s lover, the renowned novelist Trigorin. And so, the f##king game of life is on! Love, death, beauty, despair and one unfortunate seagull collide as the characters strive to discover the true meaning of it all.

Palomar Performing Arts Launches its 2023-24 Performing Arts Season with the Theatrical Production of Stupid F**king Bird by Aaron Posner
Palomar Performing Arts will be presenting Stupid F**king Bird, sort of adapted from Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull, by Aaron Posner, playing September 29 – October 8.
Performances will be on Thursday, Friday, Saturday at 7:30pm, and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and will be held in the Palomar College Studio Theatre. This production will be directed by Michael Mufson.

Director Michael Mufson said, “This play is a profound expression of the frustrations young people are feeling about the prospect of their future in a world wracked by extreme climate events, extreme political cruelty and extreme economic uncertainty. Stupid F**king Bird is a tour de force that promises to challenge preconceptions and leave audiences contemplating the profound questions that have resonated through the ages. Under Michael Mufson’s visionary direction, this production invites theater enthusiasts to experience a fresh, thought-provoking take on classic themes that continue to shape our lives.
