PROGRAMS


Certificate/AA Degree

A certificate is awarded upon completion of the "core" classes which are specific woodworking and related classes. An Associate of Arts (AA) degree program includes the "core" classes plus a complete curriculum of general education liberal arts. A student receiving an AA degree would graduate with a major in one of the three CFT areas. Additional information regarding the degree requirement is located on the Palomar College website

The Cabinetmaking and Furniture Technology (CFT) Department offers the following three Certificate/AA-degree programs:

Furniture Making
Provides the student with the theory and skills needed for empoyment in the cabinet and millwork industry. Click here for list of courses.

 
Cabinet and Furniture Design  
  Provides the student with the best possible preparation for supervisory and management responsibilities in the wood industry. Click here for list of courses.

  Provides the student with the theory and skills needed for employement in the cabinet and millwork industry. Click here for list of courses.  

Community Workshops

The Cabinet and Furniture Technology department offers many short-term, specialty courses. These community service courses are designed to explore a single subject in-depth and in a short amount of time. While some classes target the woodworking professional, most of these subjects will be of interest to all woodworking enthusiasts.

These classes will be offered mainly on weekends. The instructors are very talented and well-known in their fields. For a list of the workshops see the Class List page.
