CFT 143 - Decorative Box Making

The following comments are excerpted from evaluations written by students who have taken this class:

"I am looking forward to more box projects in the near future using the new found skills and techniques I have acquired from this class."
"I was amazed at the different techniques you shared with us and how these techniques could lead to a decorative box worth giving to someone.  Box construction, creating feathers, trays, etc., and applying finish to the box were all parts of our learning.  Without hesitation I will recommend the class to others and have done so already."
"I'd been looking forward to taking Decorative Box Making since starting in the woodworking program two years ago, and I wasn't disappointed.  I enjoy working on smaller pieces, and (being on a tight budget) I was glad to be able to make use of leftover pieces of stock."
"I thought the class was very informative. I learned a lot in the design methods in making band saw boxes. More importantly, the safety when making band saw boxesOverall, I found the class enjoyable. I learned a lot and look forward to taking a second decorative class next Spring."
"I enjoyed the class. I've been making chairs for the last two years so this has been a nice change of pace.  I enjoyed the smaller scale the boxes had to offer. Boxes at some point become a blend of function and art.  I look forward to being able to inlay turquoise, silver or other semi precious materials in to a box. I also think marquetry really enhances the appearance. I plan on taking the marquetry class after completing the veneering class."
