I have a Bachelors degree from California State University San Marcos in Liberal Studies and an emphasis in Sociology. I am very interested in working in the public education system which is why I plan to apply to the multiple credential subjects teaching credential program and teach third grade. In the future, after years of teaching, I would love to get my Masters degree in Academic Counseling at San Diego State University. My main goal is to help students achieve their educational goals by advising and providing guidance!

First and foremost I am a mother to my three boys; in addition to being a student at CSU – San Marcos and an Advisor at Upward Bound. Currently, I am pursuing my undergraduate degree in Human Development with an emphasis in counseling services along with a minor in Spanish. It is my goal to transfer to SDSU and begin my Graduate studies in the MSW program. My ultimate goal is to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and continue to work with underserved and at risk youth. Upward Bound has allowed me this privilege and honor to work with young high school students to foster, strengthen, and achieve their academic success. It is my ambition to ensure that each of these students obtain their educational goals by helping equip them with the tools needed to further their education after High School.
Senior Office Specialist
I am a local San Marcos High School alumni, graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology with an emphasis in Diversity & Change from San Diego State University. An aspiring high school counselor, in the near future, I hope to obtain my Pupil Personnel Services credential & Master of Science degree in Counseling with an emphasis in School Counseling to serve as a community change advocate to help promote social equity & higher education for all. As a Senior Office Specialist for Upward Bound/Gear Up, I am able to grow in opportunities as I work with students in the student services sector while at the same time, experiencing all the behind the scenes administrative duties.
