UPWARD BOUND NEWSLETTER fall 2009

Nicolle Martinez

Welcome BACK! Another great year awaits us all. I am very excited and have never felt more ready to take on all the challenges you have for me.  The summer

was draining but a BIG EYE OPENER.  As I have said in the past, you, the students teach me so much everyday and all day.

Mistakes are made, but all we can do is learn from them and look forward without regrets.  For the fall semester, I ask that the mistakes we make academically are minimal. I know that you all have potential to EARN exceptional grades and I will not accept anything less than your best.  You have all heard me repeat myself for the past year, “GOOD GRADES ARE KEY for your success!”  As a student that is your only job at the moment. Excel in your job. Make yourself proud. Do not forget about the goals you have set for yourself.
Get the work done for yourself and to your own benefit.

Lets all vow to make the 2009-2010 school year the BEST.  We will work together to meet our goals. Seniors will be on their way to a 4 year university by June, juniors will successfully take their SAT exam by May, Sophomores will get into the college mentality, and freshmen will continue to commit to the UB program.  I wish you all the best of luck and remember that regardless of past situations, I am always here for you and will do anything to help you.

Your coordinator,

Nellie Martinez-Herrera
