You must set goals to achieve them. Upon achieving your goals, you have a strong sense of accomplishment. This feeling propels you to set new goals, reach higher heights, make further strides, and challenge yourself to go beyond your normal mindset. This is one of the most important strategies for anyone who is successful. Setting goals, and working with goals toward their ends/results, helps students become successful with grades, tests, and academic outcomes.   You must set SMART GOALS. Make your goals: Succinct/Specific; Measureable; Achievable; Realistic; and, Timed. Use these criteria to develop your goals, especially your school, educational, and academic goals. Be sure your goals are measureable (how much to you want to increase - ie. from a grade in a class/subject from a B to an A) and timed/dated (how will you know when your goal is completed?). A good example of a good goal is also - To do 3 hours of community service per week with a local agency to have 60 hours of service per semester. Have goals for school/educational or college-career planning, personal growth, student leadership/involvement, and family life.   This year, PC UB will be having you and all UB students use goals and objectives to manage and monitor your school, personal, and other areas of your life. You will find the process of GOAL SETTING to be exciting and fun! Your goals will give you the energy and motivation to believe in yourself and reach higher, as you strive to be better than your best, and prepare for the ultimate future college options and choices!
