Attending a Final Family Interview (Selected Students and Parents)
Successfully Complete a Probationary Period (As determined by Program Director)
Students may be eligible for the Upward Bound Program under the following criteria:
• First-Generation College Student (Neither parent has a bachelor’s degree) and/or
-
Low Income (Based on Federal Income Guidelines table)
Current Federal TRiO Low Income Levels

PARENTS' EVENTS
Upward Bound is a 10 year commitment of both the student and the parent (s).
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Student who are citizens or permanent residents of the United States. Students who are in the U.S. for other than temporary purpose and provide evidence from the INS of intent to become a permanent resident.
students whose family income meets federal guidelines OR students who are first-generation college bound (student's parent (s) have not completed a four year college degree.
Students possessing these characteristics:

sense of commitment
cultural diversity appreciation
academic discipline
open mindedness
motivation
8th graders planning to enroll at one of the five target schools.
