Trio/SSS TRIO/SSS Student Participation Incentive Program

 

The Student Participation Incentive Program (SPIP) is a new program that TRIO/SSS will be implementing this 2009-2010 academic year. This new incentive program will allow all TRIO/SSS students to earn and collect points that can be later exchanged for prizes.

POINTS

Having a TRIO/SSS picture taken= 1 pt
Starting the semester as a full time student = 1 pt
College Tours = 3pts
Palomar College Fairs = 1pt
TRIO Workshops = 2pts
Other Campus Workshops = 1pt
Field Trips (non campus tours) = 2pts
Volunteering at TRIO Events (limited to one event per student) = 2pts
Counselor Contact= 1pt
Teacher Connection Report= 2pts
Attend 5 Tutoring Sessions=2 pts

---These points will be based on Fall 2009 grades---Having a 4.0 and higher GPA for the semester = 5pts
Having a 3.5 – 3.99 GPA or higher = 3pts
Having a 3.0 – 3.49 GPA or higher = 2pts
Having a 2.5 – 2.99 GPA = 1pt

PRIZES

Bronze Level: 5-6 points =TRIO Academic Supplies
Silver Level: 7-8 points = TRIO Memorabilia
Gold Level: 9-11 points = Movie Tickets
Platinum Level: 12-14 points = Gift Cards
Diamond level: 15+ points = Tickets to Events

RULES

The way SPIP works is every time a student does any of the TRIO/SSS events or requirements they earn a point(s). (Please see above for point value). These points will be kept track of by the coordinators. The points earned can be accumulated so that a student can save up points in exchange for prizes, the more points a student has the bigger the prize will be. However, the points can only be accumulated until the end of each semester. If the student does not exchange points for prizes before January 15, 2010, the points will be removed.
