Volunteer Opportunities
Many students in sociology classes are motivated to volunteer to help their communities. The most comprehensive source of volunteer opportunities in San Diego County is the Volunteer San Diego web site. Volunteer San Diego provides volunteers for more than 500 nonprofit organizations in San Diego County.
At the Volunteer San Diego web site, you can quickly register online and then find hundreds of volunteer opportunities throughout the County (including North County). You can volunteer only one time or on a continuing basis — the choice is up to you.
Volunteer Match also helps link up volunteers with agencies in need of them.
For volunteer opportunities in departments of the San Diego County Government, see the official San Diego County Government web site.
Two volunteer organizations that focus on North San Diego County are North County Community Services and Interfaith Community Services.
See the web site of the Psychological and Social Services program here at Palomar College for a listing of some additional North County organizations that use volunteers.
