Automotive Technology (R AT)

Students who enroll for college credit and achieve a minimum grade of “C” in each of the required courses (RAT 50, 51 55 and 56) and at least six units of elective classes may apply for a Palomar College Auto Body Work Certificate of Achievement. Completion of additional requirements in general education courses qualifies students to apply for an Associate of Arts degree in Auto Body Work

50 Auto Body Repair I (4 units)

Automotive body work with emphasis on repair including stretching and shrinking; working with small damage points; and realigning bumpers, fenders, doors, and hoods. May be taken three times.


51 Auto Body Repair II (4 units)


Recommended Preparation: R AT 50
Automotive body work with emphasis on increasing diagnostic, estimating, and repair skills. Update techniques and technologies. Introduction to collision industry standards including I-CAR and ASE. May be taken three times.
