ROP Competencies

Students who complete ROP classes with a 'C' or better are issued a 'Certificate of Competency' and a list of all competencies successfully accomplished in the class.  Each set of competencies, as well as the accompanying certificate, is signed by the issuing instructor.  Competencies serve a variety of purposes, some of which are to:

• List skills students have attained for their own record

• Assist employers is assessing future employees' skills

• Document teacher success in preparing students for employment

• Provide a basis for state follow-up survey and placement rates for ROP students (this impacts future funding for grants)
