Evening Program:  Monday - Friday	5:00 pm - 10:00 pm	Poway Academy of Hair Design

This program provides the required 1600 hours of cosmetology training in preparation for the California State Board licensing examination and takes approximately 11 months to complete the day program and 15 to 16 months to complete the evening program.  Here are some important details:

§    Students must pay for their training kit.  The kit contains textbooks and materials needed to complete the 1600-hour Vidal Sassoon cosmetology course at Poway Academy of Hair Design.  The cost of the kit is $2500 (non-refundable).  Students pay an initial deposit of $500 to hold their slots.  This payment is applied toward the total kit cost. Remaining payments for the kit will be made to Poway Academy of Hair Design. 

§    All students MUST purchase the kit. Once training begins, if a student drops, any monies paid for the kit are forfeited.

§    Training takes place at Poway Academy of Hair Design only.

§    The day program runs 37.5 hours/week. Hours are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Tuesday -- Saturday

§    The evening program runs 25 hours/week. Hours are 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm Monday -- Friday.

§    Students are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Upcoming position are filled from an interest list maintained by ROP.  Enrollments date are announced as they become available. Please remember that there are a limited number of slots.

§    Students who have previously applied for Financial Aid through Poway Academy of Hair Design or who have had an informational visit to the school are not eligible for this ROP program for a period of one year from the time of application.  This applies whether you were approved for or denied Financial Aid.  DO NOT CONTACT POWAY ACADEMY FOR INFORMATION ABOUT ROP.  This could affect your eligibility.

 

To register applicants must:

Be 18 years of age by the first day of class Provide a copy of a high school diploma or GED Show an original Social Security Card Show a valid CA picture ID or passport Pass a general knowledge test.
