Optical Technology I (R OT 50) 8.0 Units

Basic theory of light and optics, anatomy and function of the eye and frame and lens design.  Introduction to optical tools, equipment and dispensing skills.  First in a two course sequence that prepares students for employment as optical technicians.

 

Ophthalmic Medical Assisting I (R OT 70) 2.0 Units

Entry-level training for medical assisting in the ophthalmic health field.  Instruction in structure, function and common diseases of the eyes and related tissues, optics and refraction, visual fields, ophthalmic drugs, glaucoma, and assisting in minor office procedures.
