Palomar
College Regional Occupational Program (ROP)
is a tax-supported statewide public education vocational training
program. ROP offers tuition-free courses regardless of income and
serves all
residents 16 years of age and older. There is
no minimum residency requirement
Every ROP course and it's content is approved by the
State Department of Education. Practical hands-on experience is an
important part of ROP training.
Students who complete ROP courses may receive a
Certificate and a list of Occupational Competencies outlining what they
have mastered.
Classes taught through ROP at Palomar College may be
taken for college credit tuition-free and will appear on a Palomar
College transcript. Credits may be applied toward numerous
degree
and certificate programs at Palomar College. All ROP courses
available for college credit conform to Palomar College curriculum
standards.
