Bonus:
-
For this quiz the bonus will test your facility
with analogies using the vocabulary words studied thus
far. On the quiz, you will not be required to complete
the analogies with vocabulary words, but you will not be
able to complete the analogies correctly without a solid
understanding of the vocabulary we have studied.
-
The following abbreviations have been used on
the bonus section of the quiz:
-
: = is to
-
:: = as
-
"disdain : respect :: scoff : __________" reads
"disdain is to respect as scoff is to __________"
-
Examples: In order to test yourself, look at the first
pair of words in each analogy. They will be related
either as synonyms or antonyms. When you have decided
upon the relationship, look at the third word and then
fill in the blank to complete the analogy so that the
second pair of words is related in the same way as the
first pair.
