SUBJECT: CAMPUS COMMUNITY ALERT UPDATE
As of 3:15 p.m. today, Palomar College Police
Department confirmed
Thai Thanh Dang,
who was suspected of making a
threat to college campuses in the San Diego area,
has been
taken into custody and booked into
Sacramento County Jail with no bail.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department has
informed all college police departments in San
Diego County about a threat to college campuses
in the San Diego area. The subject shown in the
photo above was released from the Sacramento
County Jail, on March 26, 2008, and information
has been obtained that he has stated he is going
to commit a shooting on a college campus in the
San Diego area.
The Palomar College Police
Department has increased foot and vehicle
patrols and is coordinating with other colleges,
universities, and with other law enforcement
agencies. If the
subject or his vehicle is seen on Ca
mpus,
immediately notify Campus Police at (760)
744-1150, Ext. 2289. The subject should be
considered dangerous and should not be
approached.

March 24, 2008 The
Palomar College Police Department has received
several reports of property thefts from students
as well as locker burglaries. The Police
Department would like to issue a warning to
students to protect themselves against theft by
offering the following suggestions:
Do not leave items unattended in
classrooms or in general population areas on
Campus.
Check work areas before leaving
them to make sure you have not left anything
behind.
Make sure to use a lock and secure
the lock when using the locker rooms.
When using an outside locker make
sure to secure the lock prior to leaving the
area.
Do not leave items of value or
money laying out where others can see them.
Be aware of your surroundings.
We would also like to
remind the community to:
Make sure to lock your vehicle
when parking on Campus.
Make sure not to leave items of
value or money laying out in visible areas
inside your vehicle.
The Palomar College Police
Department urges anyone who observes suspicious
circumstances to contact the Campus Police at
extension 2289.
If you are in need of medical
assistance, locate the nearest phone or have a
nearby person dial 911.
