Mission: 

The mission of Campus Watch is to forge a strong partnership between the Palomar College Community and the Palomar College Police Department through communication, services, and crime prevention education. The campus watch programs success relies on citizen participation and involvement in the reduction of crime. The mission is carried out through objectives and on-campus activities.

Objectives:

  • Community Safety - A proactive and preventive approach to prevent students, employees, and visitors from becoming victims of crimes.
  • Police / Community Partnership - Building a positive and proactive relationship between the college community and the police department.
  • Communication - Create an environment in which the college community and the police department effectively address concerns and exchange ideas related to crime prevention and service.

Crime Prevention Tips

  • Avoid walking alone at night.

  • Stay on well lit, frequently traveled routes.

  • Avoid shortcuts and dark ,isolated areas.

  • Walk like you have a purpose, know where you are going, project a no-nonsense image.

  • Avoid potentially dangerous situations.

  • If you feel threatened, cross the street, locate an emergency phone, or enter a store or place of business.

  • Take advantage of our escort and transportation services while on campus.
