The Palomar College Planetarium is open to the public on Friday evenings.  After the show guests are invited to join us on the planetarium patio for free viewing through our telescopes (weather permitting).
The Planetarium will be CLOSED on Friday 11/27
for the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend.
We will re-open on Friday 12/4.
Schedule of Events:
6:15 pm

Lobby opens - box office opens - gift shop opens 

6:30 pm Doors to the theater open - seating begins.
7:00 - 8:00 pm "The Sky Tonight" (see below)
8:15 - 9:00 pm Fulldome Presentation (see schedule to the right)
6:15 - 9:30 pm

Important Notes!

* Each show is sold separately.  You may purchase tickets for one or 

    both shows. 

* The shows start on schedule - late seating is not allowed! 

*  Seating is not assigned and is open to first come, first served. 
    Arrive early to get the seats you want.

Seating is limited to 142 visitors.

*  Due to the darkened environment and safety concerns,

    children under the age of 5 years old are not allowed in the

    planetarium shows.

*  All planetarium shows are indoors and are unaffected by bad

     weather.  The shows go on rain or shine!

"The Sky Tonight"     

This live narrated show uses the Digistar 4 to highlight the prominent celestial objects that are visible from San Diego skies.  The Moon, planets, and many of the constellation patterns and their mythology will be discussed as the audience is taken on a tour of the current night sky.  Other timely celestial events and astronomical news items will be included and discussed as they occur throughout the year.  This show is appropriate for all ages 5 & up.

Fulldome Feature  
The unique nature of our fulldome digital theater allows us to present feature shows that will use the entire dome creating an immersive experience.  Audiences will be taken on astronomical journeys that will make them feel like they are part of the show.  Presentations will vary - details of the current show are described at the top of this page.  Shows are appropriate for all ages 5 & up.

Tickets are sold in advance online.  Remaining tickets are sold at the box office on the night of the show.
