Prop. M public bond measure passes funding new construction for Palomar College including a new planetarium.

tBP Architecture is selected to design the new planetarium.

Old planetarium hosts its last show and closes after 43 years of service to the College.

Old planetarium is demolished to make way for new campus construction.


The first 3-D design renderings of the planetarium are seen.

Architectural plans were submitted to the California Division of the State Architect (DSA) for approval.

Formal presentation of the new planetarium design to the College Governing Board.

College Governing Board gives final approval for the new planetarium project.

DSA stamps out the new planetarium design plans.

College Governing Board approves the request to go out to bid on the project.

Bidding for the new planetarium takes place.

Contract award decision occurs in late April.

Ground-breaking ceremony.
