Heather Nesbit

Biography
Heather started signing during high school. She attended night school classes at a local adult school. Immediately after graduating high school she was offered a job working with deaf and disabled adults. It was an easy transition due to the fact the company was started and run by family members. This job helped her signing skills a lot. Heather was working with and surrounded by deaf people. Forcing her to develop and improve her signing skills. One of her responsibilities was also to interpret for appointments and meetings. Heather also worked with Special Olympics for three years. She continued working in this field for five years. At that time she relocated in order to buy a home. When she moved in 2001, she started interpreting for the school district. She has been working as an interpreter since that time. Heather works every summer at a deaf camp. That is something she really enjoys! Heather is also currently enrolled at Palomar College in an interpreter training program.
