BRENDA ABUBO

I have been blessed with a wonderful husband for soon to be twenty-five years (I got married really young)!. Together we have raised three incredibly awesome boys. I have been working as an educational sign language interpreter for nine years. I am currently working with six students in the  6th-8th grades.  They range from having a mild hearing loss to being profoundly deaf. Loving my job is an added plus to working with such neat kids. Not many people look forward to going to work, but I can say that I do. I enjoy reading, cooking for large crowds of (300-500), and being very involved in several different areas of ministry in my church.  I am in charge of the D/d ministry and I love working with the D/d that come to our services.   My goals for the PInES program are to become proficient and skilled in interpreting to do the work for which I am hired. If I can be a positive influence in helping students I work with find their full potential, and a fulfilling place in the world then I will feel that I have successfully fulfilled the work I have been called to do.  I would include a list of things I do in my “free time,” but I’m not sure what that is; anyway, I never seem to have any.
