The creation of the Palomar Performing Arts Complex, which will house a renovated Howard Brubeck Theatre, is now underway. Completion is set for 2013. The Real Inspector Hound

This hilarious spoof of 1930’s and 40’s British mystery movies has it all: a spooky old mansion, a storm-wracked heath, a gathering of strangers, mistaken identities and, of course, murders! Wrap it all in natty British accents and you’ll have a delightful outing at the theatre trying to discern the real Inspector Hound!

Inside the Orchestra
Kenneth Bell, tour guide and narrator
Step inside the PSO with family-friendly music highlighting each section of the orchestra. The strings shimmer on Variations on a Theme by Tchaikovsky; the woodwinds color P.D.Q. Bach’s Octoot; brass and percussion boldly state Fanfare La Peri. The program concludes with Star Wars Epic II Suite and Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, performed by the entire orchestra!

As the election-year climate heats up, join this celebration of the great melodies that inspired our forefathers during periods of conflict. Music from the Revolutionary War, Civil War and the Big Band Era of World War II will be highlighted. Your hearts will swell with pride! (This concert is the first of two parts. Be sure not to miss this celebration as our Artist-in-Residence presents his final solo performance as a full time Palomar faculty member. Gach will highlight his thirty one year tenure with music from his favorite composers, including Joseph Haydn, Charles Ives and Fryderyk Chopin. The recital will also feature the live creation of Sketches, a Gach original.

Emperor Concerto

The PSO concludes an ambitious season with an exciting performance of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 in Eb Major (commonly known as The Emperor Concerto), featuring pianist Peter Gach. In keeping with the royal theme, the orchestra will also perform William Walton’s Crown Imperial March, and Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 1.
