Concert Hour is a music enrichment series presented for our students and the community by the Palomar College Performing Arts Department. Concerts take place in the Performance Lab (Room D-10). Doors open at 12:20,with seating on a first-come first-served basis. The program begins at 12:30 and ends at 1:20. Late arrivals are admitted to the hall and seated during a performance pause as long as seats are available. There is no charge for admission.Campus police can provide patrons coming from off campus with guest parking passes and give directions to legal parking areas. Patrons are urged to allow sufficient time to secure parking and reach the Performance Lab before the concert begins.

JANUARY 31 LARRY KARUSH The fearlessly inventive LA-based composer/pianist returns to Concert Hour with fresh "comprovisations". Karush will be joined by percussionists Randy Gloss and Joey De Leon. Funded in part through Meet The Composers MetLife Creative Connections program. FEBRUARY 7 MARK DRESSER A world class contrabassist in our midst? Right here. The UCSD faculty member and international recording artist cues up a stunning "solo bass" performance. FEBRUARY 14 ANN CHASE It's Valentine's Day! Soprano/pianist Ann Chase performs love songs for a mad, mad world. FEBRUARY 21 SEOUL PIANO ENSEMBLE Four South Korean pianists perform a series of duets and a waltz for "eight hands". Music from Piazzola, Brahms and the opera Faust. FEBRUARY 28 FLAMENCO! Explore the world of flamenco guitar with recording artist Chris Burton Jacome and dance Lena Jacome as they return the passion and grace of this fiery Spanish art form to the Concert Hour stage.
MARCH 6 HEATHER BARCLAY Solo percussion performances from the fine local artist and Palomar instructor.
MARCH 13 CHAMBER MUSIC FOR CELLO AND PIANO Featured are Astor Piazzolla's Le Grand Tango and Sergei Rachmaninov's Sonata for Violoncello and Piano in G minor, Opus 19. Erica Erenyi, violoncello; Emily Helvey, piano.
MARCH 20 MASAYO AND ROBERT Masayo Norikura (Japanese and Bass Koto) and Robert Williams (flute, shakuhachi, wind synth) link traditional Japanese composition with modern technology. APRIL 3 COLIN McALLISTER Guitarist Colin McAllister showcases recent reworkings of Medieval and Renaissance materials, including a piece for 11-string alto guitar and Nocturnal by Benjamin Britten. APRIL 10 PALOMAR CHAMBER SINGERS, directed by David Chase PALOMAR WOMEN'S CHORUS, directed by Karen Bryan APRIL 17 FINC (Faculty Improvisers of North County)
APRIL 24 PALOMAR HONORS PERFORMERS Nine well-appointed Palomar students will deliver performances in a variety of styles and formats. Included will be a Barbershop Quartet, Auction Cries (by John Biggs), Chamber Music and a Baroque Duet. (Note: The Palomar Jazz Vocal Ensemble, previously scheduled for this date, will not appear.)

MAY 8 JANET HAMMER TRIO Jazz singer and Palomar faculty artist Janet Hammer presents a varied program of vocal delights. Accompanied by pianist John Giulino and trumpet/sax man Flip Oakes. (Note: Pianist serge Martinchuk's previously scheduled performance has been cancelled due to illness.)
