To pursue dance at Palomar College is to embark on a journey of
body, mind and spirit. By honoring all forms of dance as significant
cultural forms and artistic expressions, the Dance Program nurtures
a disciplined and creative community of students, teachers and
artists. We encourage creativity, collaboration and technique
while maintaining the highest academic standards.
Technique: Courses include Afro-Cuban/Brazilian dance, capoeria, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, modern, tap, musical theatre, ballroom, improvisation, and choreography.
General Education: Enjoy Interactive Dance History, World Dance, Dance Survey, and kinesiology courses.
Performance: Opportunities in 2005-2006 include three dance concerts in the Howard Brubeck Theatre (including a concert featuring all student works), high school outreach programs, Afro-Cuban Drum and Dance Ensemble, and several community-based performances. Auditions are posted on our website and are open to the general public.
Faculty: We have an accomplished group of nationally
recognized dance artists on our full and part time staff.
