Student Enrollment Fee

$26 per unit - Enrollment fee for all California residents

High School students do not have to pay for enrollment fees. High school students are still responsible for paying the Health fee.

Board of Governors Enrollment Fee Waiver (BOGW)

The Board of Governors Enrollment Fee Waiver (BOGW) will waive the $26 per unit enrollment fee and the $13 health fee for eligible California resident applicants. Complete the online BOGW application on eServices at www.palomar.edu, and then click on "Apply for BOG Fee Waiver" under Financial Aid. You may also complete a paper BOGW application included in the class schedule and submit with required documentation to one of the Financial Aid Office locations. You can verify your eligibility by logging into eServices and click on "View my Financial Aid" or call (760) 744-1150 ext. 2366 or 8116. Most BOGW students are also eligible for a Parking Permit discount. This means your parking permit fee will only be $20 per semester. You can purchase your discounted parking permit at the Bursar's Office located at the San Marcos Campus, Student Services building. Parking permit application forms are also available online by logging into eServices and click on "View Parking Permit Application."

Student Center Fee

A student center fee will be assessed to each student attending classes at the San Marcos campus in the amount of $1 per credit unit, not to exceed $10 per fiscal year (summer, fall and spring). Funds generated from this fee will be used to finance, construct, enlarge, remodel, refurbish and operate a Student Center, also known as a Student Union. Students on CalWORKS (known as AFDC), SSI, SSP, and the General Assistance Program are exempt from this fee.

Student Representation Fee

A $1 fee per semester is collected to provide funds to support student leaders who state positions and viewpoints before city, county and district governments, and before state and federal agencies and offices. This fee is nonrefundable.

Student Representation Fee Waiver

A student may, for religious, political, financial or moral reasons, choose not to pay the Student Representation Fee noted in this section.

Student Activity Fee

All students should take advantage of the opportunity to purchase a student activity sticker for each semester they are enrolled. The fee is $10 and is completely voluntary. Students will be given a validation sticker to attach to their student identification card. The student activity fee offers students a number of benefits, the value of which far exceeds the cost of the sticker. These benefits include access to the Student Union Computer Lab and Television Lounge, discounts at the college bookstore, periodic free food and drink at the cafeteria, two for one discounts and free offerings from local merchants, free locker rental on campus and much more. Please visit the Comet Center or the Office of Student Affairs in the Student Union for more information or to take advantage of this opportunity. This fee is nonrefundable.

Palomar Identification Card (PIC)

All students will be charged a $5 processing fee for a PIC and /or current semester sticker. The fee may be refunded within the first two weeks of the semester if a card has not been produced or in cases of complete withdrawal from college. The unused semester sticker must be returned. If the card is lost, a $5 replacement fee is charged. This fee is nonrefundable.
