Educational Television (ETV building) Distance learning courses, like traditional courses require textbooks, assignments, tests, and tuition. The primary distinction is that distance learning courses provide convenient access to a college education by eliminating much of the hassle associated with traditional college courses - fighting traffic, looking for a place to park, finding a baby-sitter for the kids, adjusting your schedule to attend lectures, etc. Palomar College is accredited and most distance learning courses are transferable to the University of California (UC), California State Universities (CSU), and other major colleges and universities, and either fulfill general education, elective, or major requirements.
