Dome/Gymnasium (G building)
Weight Room/Wrestling Room

The dome is used for many events, athletic competitions and PE classes.

Built in 1959, this was a Kaiser Geodesic Dome construction designed by Buchminster Fuller. This low cost aluminum dome consisted of 575 diamond-shaped panels that are .081 inch thick. They are curved on their major axis with a channel-shaped strut connecting the points of the diamond on the minor axis. The design gives the dome structural strength without interior supports. The construction of the building and the erection of the dome caused much interest in the community. It took only two weeks to put the dome together once all the parts were assembled and the foundation laid.
