The Palomar College Library has more than 800 encyclopedias in its collection.
General encyclopedias are located on the AE Reference
Shelf. In addition there are many subject-specific encyclopedias with articles
written by experts in the field. These encyclopedias are an excellent source for
beginning your research on a topic. The articles can provide background information,
names of key people, and important dates. They may also contain bibliographies.
