Opposing Viewpoints (Gale) Open Database  Display Database Description
Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center draws on the social issues series published by Greenhaven Press, as well as core reference content from other series. Access viewpoint articles, topic overviews, statistics, primary documents, links to websites, and full-text magazine and newspaper articles.
CQ Researcher Open Database  Display Database Description
CQ Researcher provides expert, clearly written articles on contemporary topics and controversial issues addressed in a balanced and unbiased manner. A comprehensive index, updated monthly, and available in PDF format for easy downloading and searching, is available at http://library.cqpress.com/researcher_index.pdf. JSTOR Open Database  Display Database Description
Includes the following collections: Arts & Sciences (collections I, II, III, VII, Music, Language & Literature), Life Sciences, and Public Health Reports. Full-text backfiles (up to the latest three to five years) of core scholarly journals in the arts, humanities, social sciences, environmental sciences, physical sciences, biological sciences, mathematics, and engineering. Google Scholar Open Database  Display Database Description
Google Scholar searches the internet for peer-reviewed journal articles and other publications (books, theses, etc.). If Palomar College has the full-text in electronic format, there will be a link to 'Full-text at Palomar. If you are OFF-CAMPUS, you must first do the following to see the Palomar College links: :
1) On the Google Scholar homepage, click on Settings in the upper right.
2) Click 'Library Links' on the left side of the page.
3) In the box type 'Palomar College' and press Enter
4) Place a check mark in each box in the list of results.
5) Click Save.
Vocational Studies Premier (EBSCO) Open Database  Display Database Description
This contains articles and other publications with a primary focus on disciplines of study within associate degrees and certification programs, including, accounting, child care services, culinary arts, food service management, graphic arts, hospitality management, interior design, journalism, library technology, plumbing, heating & air conditioning, welding, and much more.
Intelecom Open Database  Display Database Description
INTELECOM is a hosted digital repository of academic video clips - streamed on demand, covering a variety of video collections including Biological Sciences, Oceanography, History, Philosophy, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, Health, and Environmental Studies. Films on Demand (Closed Captioned Collection) Open Database  Display Database Description
Films On Demand offers over 6,000 current, education streaming videos covering a variety of disciplines and subjects. Users can create personal playlists incorporating full-length videos or segments, and embed segments into courseware such as Blackboard. (NOTE: embedded videos only work with flash technology at this time, and will not work with Windows Media or Quicktime.) Some videos include interactive transcripts. NBC Learn Open Database  Display Database Description
NBC Learn includes thousands of videos, historic newsreels, primary source documents, and photographs from the NBC Archives going back to the beginning of film and television, as well as original resources, in a variety of disciplines and subjects.
Primary Search (EBSCO) Open Database  Display Database Description
Primary Search provides full text for popular, magazines for elementary school research. All full text articles included in the database are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles), and full text information dates as far back as 1990.
MAS Ultra (EBSCO) Open Database  Display Database Description
Provides full text for over 500 popular general interest and current events publications dating back to 1975. Includes nearly 100,000 biographies, 76,000 primary source documents, and an image collection of 116,000 photos, maps and flags.
MasterFILE Premier (EBSCO) Open Database  Display Database Description
This multidisciplinary database provides full text for nearly 1,950 general reference publications with full text information dating as far back as 1975. Covering virtually every subject area of general interest, MasterFILE Premier also includes nearly 350 full text reference books, 91,600 biographies, 75,000 primary source documents, and an Image Collection of 107,135 photos, maps and flags.
GreenFILE (EBSCO) Open Database  Display Database Description
This is a collection of scholarly, government and general-interest titles covering all aspects of human impact to the environment, including content on global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more. The database provides indexing and abstracts for more than 384,000 records, as well as Open Access full text for more than 4,700 records.
EBSCO A-Z List of Ejournals Open Database  Display Database Description
EJS provides online access to full-text articles from over 30 periodicals in the Library's print collection, in all subject areas.
CountryWatch Open Database  Display Database Description
Contains information about countries, including news on the latest political, economic, corporate, and environmental events as they occur, and detailed geographical, political, economic, corporate, and environmental briefings.
Ingenta Open Database  Display Database Description
This is a collection of academic and professional online journals. Indexing and abstracting is available for all publications. Full-text articles to journals subscribed to by Palomar College are also available for free; you may purchase other articles from Ingenta directly for a fee.
FindArticles Open Database  Display Database Description
This search engine provides access to full-text articles and citations from various academic, industry and general interest publications dating back to 1984. Publications are organized by major categories: Arts & Entertainment, Automotive, Business & Finance, Computers & Technology, Health & Fitness, Home & Garden, News & Society, Reference & Education, and Sports.
