Food for Fines

 May 2008

Palomar College Library is proud to sponsor the Food for Fines program to benefit the EOP&S Food Pantry

From May 1, 2008-May 31, 2008, your Palomar College Library overdue fines will be waived* if you bring in non-perishable food or other items (see below for examples of items needed).  Everyone is invited to drop off donations at the circulation desks of the San Marcos campus Library or the Escondido Center Library. You don’t even have to owe a fine to participate!

Any amount of food donated will forgive ALL fines for overdue materials!

EOP&S is seeking food items such as rice, pasta, boxed cereals, oatmeal or other hot cereals, baby foods, canned fruits and juices, canned meats and fish, canned or dry soups, coffee, tea bags, hot chocolate and other dry beverage mixes, peanut butter, jam and jelly, flour, sugar, honey, salt, etc.   Grocery gift certificates, packaged personal care items such as razors, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and disposable diapers, and new basic kitchen equipment (such as hand can openers) also will be accepted.  Please check the expiration date codes on cans and other foods as we are unable to accept items for distribution with expired date codes.

*charges for lost library materials or items that have not yet been returned will not be waived and will still apply.
