The Library may have the textbooks you need for your courses.

The San Marcos Campus Library and the Escondido Center Library have hundreds of textbooks thanks to a grant by the Palomar College Foundation President's Associates and the Leichtag Family Foundation. Students may use the textbooks while they study in the Library. Textbooks are listed in the online catalog. Click here to view the catalog. If you do not see yours, please drop by or call us (760-744-1150, ext. 2612) to find out if your textbook is available.

New Resource -- NBC Learn: News & Information from the NBC Archives

NBC LearnPalomar students and faculty can now access the entire NBC news archives going back to the beginning of film and television through NBC Learn, a web-based streaming video service. It includes thousands of videos, historic newsreels, primary source documents, and photographs from the news division of this legendary broadcast media company. The service also includes related original instructional resources in a variety of disciplines and subjects.

EasyBib The Library now has access to EasyBib Premium, a citation machine that will help you cite your sources in MLA or APA format (both in-text and reference page citations). New Online Resource:
Videatives streaming videos for Child Development and Education

Videatives is a web-based streaming service of over 200 short video clips demonstrating scenarios in child development and education. Each video is accompanied by supporting, explanatory text. Together, the visual and textual documents map theory to practice, and generate theory from practice for students and practitioners through demonstrations of children's interactions with others and their environment.

Helpful Online Resources @ the Library

Films On Demand offers over 6,000 current, educational streaming videos (produced by Films for the Humanities) covering a variety of disciplines and subjects. Users can create personal playlists incorporating full-length videos or segments, and embed segments into courseware such as Blackboard. NOTE: embedded videos only work with flash technology at this time, and will not work with Windows Media or Quicktime. ScienceDirect Health & Life Sciences Collection offers full-text coverage of hundreds of scholarly journals in disciplines such as nursing, biology, allied health professions, and many more. The research included in these publications is relevant to a variety of other subjects as well, including geography and GIS. This database was paid for with an NSF grant awarded to Professor Wing Cheung from Palomar College's Geography Department.
