The New Paralegal Program
For students interested in becoming a paralegal please contact the Legal
Studies advisor Professor, Angelo J, Corpora at 760-744-1150 ext 2501.
Palomar College has entered into an articulation agreement with the
University of California, San Diego, Extension Program, whereby
students may earn their Associate of Arts degree in Legal Studies at
Palomar College, then transfer to the UCSD Extension Program to
complete the Paralegal Certificate.
Three courses from the AA degree in Legal Studies can be transferred to
UCSD, Extension, there by reducing the number of courses required. See
course requirements below.

The AA degree is the minimum admission requirement for the paralegal
certificate program. Students wishing to enter the accelerated program
are generally required to have a Bachelor’s Degree.

A.A. DEGREE MAJOR REQUIREMENTS
Legal Studies
The Legal Studies major leads to an A.A. degree or transfer program,
providing students with general knowledge of the philosophy of law,
the legal process, legal institutions, and legal reasoning. This is
not a paralegal or a para-professional major but will prepare
students for careers within the legal profession.
