Mark Milliron is President and Chief Executive Officer of the
League for Innovation in the Community
College, an international association dedicated to catalyzing the potential of the community college movement. The League has been recognized by Change Magazine (1998) as "the most dynamic organization in the community college world." Prior to coming to the League, Mark served as the Executive Director of Oracle Corporations Global Learning Initiatives, where he helped Oracle develop and deploy programs and services that worked with governments and education to address key technology issues.
Steven W Gilbert joined the American Association for Higher Education (AAHE) as Director, Technology Projects, in July, 1993. He founded the TLT Group as the Teaching, Learning and Technology Affiliate of AAHE in January, 1998. He was Vice President of EDUCOM, where he created and led the Educational Uses of Information Technology (EDIT) program and the EDUCOM Software Initiative (ESI). Terri Bishop Hedegaard
is Senior Vice President of Public Affairs for the Apollo Group, Inc, where she oversees institutional relations and consults on technology development, mergers and acquisitions, and new distance learning and media initiatives. In 1989, she developed the University of Phoenix online academic delivery system and founded their online campus. Today the online campus serves over 15,000 FTE students enrolled in 19 degree programs, while retaining strong retention rates and amassing comprehensive process and learning outcomes assessment data.
Terry Hajduk is Senior Architectural Designer for Burgess & Niple, Limited, specializing in designing higher educational learning environments. His work includes prototype laptop computer classrooms, teaching and learning centers, and campus master planning that blends pedagogy, technology and aesthetics that support learning. His designs have received recognition from the American Institute of Architects and American School and University magazine.
Bob Barr and John Tagg are the authors of
From Teaching to Learning
- A New Paradigm for Undergraduate Education, which appeared in the November/December, 1995 issue of Change Magazine. The article has caused widespread discussion throughout higher education and popularized the concept of the Learning Paradigm as a metaphor for institutional change. Bob is Director of Research and Planning, and John is an Associate Professor of English at Palomar College.
