Ever wanted to have a career in radio and don't know where to start? Ever thought of working for a FCC-licensed radio station while you're earning college credits? Then enroll now in RTV 130 Radio Production!

As a RTV 130 student, you will be working hands-on in a fully operational 500 watt FCC licensed radio station located on the San Marcos campus of Palomar College! You learn the basics of radio broadcasting from news writing skills to working with the newest technology. You will also hear from guest speakers who will share their knowledge of the radio industry. Past speakers have included: Radio legend Doug Best, Mighty 1090's Ernie Martinez, and Chainsaw of KGB's "Dave, Shelley, and Chainsaw".

Not interested in a career in radio? The RTV 130 Radio Production fulfills the necessary requirements to obtain your certificate or AA in Radio and Television from Palomar College and also fulfills certain requirements for transfer to a four year university.

With a day and evening class offered in the Spring 2007 semester, the RTV 130 class accommodates any schedule.

Once you've completed RTV 130, you can apply for an on-air shift at KKSM! This is a great stepping stone for your career in radio, many who have gone through KKSM have landed jobs in the radio, TV, and film industry. Check out our Alumni section for a partial list of successful graduates.
