The award winning KKSM sports team will return this fall with LIVE coverage of Palomar College Comet football and selected North County high school football games. It's exciting, it's action packed, and it's all live and worldwide. Don't miss a minute of the action with Ted Mendenhall and Larry Burch calling the action and Zach Stone in the studio.

This year will also be special as for the first time all football games will be broadcasted LIVE on the internet and available around the world!

BUSH VS. KERRY

KKSM will air the Third Presidential debate between incumbent Republican President George W. Bush and Democratic challenger Senator John Kerry. The debate will air live from Arizona State University in  Tempe, Arizona. The debate will start at 6PM PST/PDT with CBS News Correspondent and Face the Nation host Bob Schieffer moderating the debate.

Beginning Tuesday September 7th at 6PM, it's KKSM's own sports talk show The Starting Line-Up. Each week the KKSM Sports Team will bring you news from all over the sports world, from Palomar College athletics to all major league games. Phone in at 760-744-1150 x2438 during the show and participate in the discussion. Did you miss The Starting Line-Up on Tuesday nights? Don't worry, catch the INSTANT REPLAY broadcast on Wednesdays at 2PM.

Thanks to all who turned out at the 20th Annual Oceanside Longboard Surfing Club Championship and 4th Annual Guy Takayama Noseride Event! KKSM was there and we had a blast spinning your favorite tunes and giving away free CDs and 8" cakes courtesy of Piancone Italian Gourmet Deli and Bakery in Vista. KKSM would like to thank IndyMac Bank, the Oceanside Longboard Surfing Club, Pizza Port, Hunter's Steakhouse, and McDonald's for making our broadcast possible and for making it fun for all involved. On August 12th, KKSM helped KPBS in their membership campaign that raised over $13,000 dollars for KPBS! Big thanks go out to KKSM volunteers: Roberto Criado, The Big J.D., Kat Griffin, Emily Irish, Emi Kikuchi, Zeb Navarro, Frank Rios, Joe Sage, The Schmink, and Zach Stone for answering the phones and taking pledges. KKSM is always happy to support public television and radio.

Gwennie

Gwennie is Helen Woodward Animal Center's Pet of the Week.

A TOYS-R-FUN CANINE IS WAITING PATIENTLY FOR YOU!

OCTOBER is national Adopt a Shelter Dog month!  Now is the perfect time to adopt your new best friend!  Gwennie is our featured pet this week from Helen Woodward Animal Center!  She LOVES toys and enjoys a squeaky good time!  Come meet Gwennie and she will happily greet you with a toy in her mouth! 

Gwennie is a 1 year old, female, spayed Siberian Husky Mix.  She has a great attitude about life which is play, play and more play!  Beautiful dilute auburn/gray and white puffy coat with the most delicious latte colored eyes that will make you realize its been long enough that you've been dog-less!  Bring Gwennie home today...but don't forget the toys!  

Gwennie originally came to Helen Woodward Animal Center from another shelter that was reaching capacity.  With our Second Chance program she has a chance to make every day of your life filled with love and admiration!

 Gwennie's adoption fee of just $145 includes up-to-date vaccines, an identification microchip and has been examined for health and temperament.
